Abstract
With the expansion of Persian language teaching to non-Persian speakers in Iran and in other countries, books and resources have been prepared and written for this purpose. The collection of books "Modern Persian Language Teaching" is one of these sources that Mr. Ehsan Qaboud has written and published. This collection has six volumes, which are considered in three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. In this article, we have reviewed and criticized the first volume of this collection. Volume one deals with the introductory course. Due to the division of the book into different titles, we have examined each part separately and expressed its positive points or weaknesses and forms. The criterion of critique was considering the principles of language teaching, the level of applicability of the content, observing the needs and prerequisites of the topics and the like. One of the advantages of this book is that after a short text, in various parts such as practice, dialogue, pronunciation of words and grammar, it makes students learn, but not observing some principles of language teaching, dealing with the previous sentence. Learning the sounds and letters of the alphabet, the uncertainty of the audience accurately, the unbalanced lessons, as well as the task of sentence construction are some of the weaknesses of volume one of this collection. This book is a useful text for teaching Persian language, which is mostly aimed at Arabic speakers. Therefore, it creates problems for non-Arabic languages.
