Abstract

One of the effective tools in teaching a second language is film and showing it to language learners. Achieving some educational goals without using video is very difficult or requires a longer time. This study tries to express the goals and effects of showing educational videos in teaching a second language, its tools and methods. The goals of the film can be divided into two parts: primary (main) and secondary (implicit). Breaking the language-learning hearing lock (correct and fast listening) and correct pronunciation and professional use of words and sentences (saying well) are the main goals of the film. Sub-objectives include consolidation of previous learning, familiarity with spoken language, familiarity with new terms and words, teaching content, transmitting culture and ethical teachings, motivating to learn a new lesson, enhancing the power of recording and writing, and Advanced self-examination noted. Any device (hardware or software) that can provide a variety of videos with the desired image and sound to the learner is a laboratory tool that is used in the form of eight executive methods.
