Abstract
Textbooks are an inseparable part of the classroom. The importance of books in teaching and learning Persian is undeniable; in fact, most non-Iranian Persian learners learn Persian with textbooks. This shows that evaluating and analyzing their content is necessary in assessing the quality of textbooks; thus, Tomlinson's (2011) sixteen indicators were considered as one of the criteria for a good, useful, and comprehensive book. In this research, an attempt was made to analyze the textbook titled "Faraz Farsi", which is one of the books for teaching Persian to non-Persian speakers, with the help of Tomlinson's indicators from the perspective of teachers of this textbook, who directly deal with the aforementioned educational resources. First, a questionnaire was prepared based on the measurement and effectiveness of each of Tomlinson's indicators and was given to thirty teachers of this textbook to answer the question of to what extent these indicators have been observed in the "Faraz Farsi" textbook. Then, the data were calculated and analyzed. The results showed that Tomlinson's indicators were well represented in the "Faraz Farsi" textbook and there was no significant difference between the opinions of the teachers. In addition, the findings showed that the teachers had a positive view of the aforementioned indicators.
