Abstract
Preparing textbooks for teaching Persian to speakers of other languages (TPSOL) for specific academic purposes, in spite of its importance, has not received much attention. The present study attempts to develop and examine the elements of the material that need to be addressed in TPSOL at advanced level for those who aim to educate in management courses. It is theoretically based on content-based approach along with Persian Reference Framework (PRF; Mirdehghan et. al., 1395) for simultaneous teaching of the four main language skills together with culture. The important matter in designing the materials here has been its focus on assignments, natural situations in conversations, cultural discussions with regard to semi-specialized texts, and exemplifying the cultural points in Iranian community. Accordingly, 11 lessons (3 chapters) have been designed for 110 hours teaching (each lesson for 5 sessions). The evaluation process of the course materials, is questionnaire based; for which questionnaires were distributed and been completed by 30 TPSOL teachers and specialists from Shahid Beheshti University, Imam Khomeini International University and Al-Mustafa Virtual University language centers, who participated in the process. The main research questions are: 1- What are the characteristics of educational content suitable for non-Persian speakers in the field of management in the context of a content-oriented approach? 2- What are the effective ways to strengthen the four main Persian language skills for the target group and with the aim of communication? Statistical tests were used in SPSS.22 in examining and answering the questions. The data analysis results illustrates strategies for strengthening the basic and secondary linguistic competence with integrated skills for Persian and the following issues to be considered within the course development process: focusing on the environment, needs, principles, objectives, content, format and presentation of curriculum, monitoring, controlling and evaluation of the course
