Abstract
Textbooks are one of the most important components of any language learning course. Considering their key role in the development of language learners, their content and quality are also very important. Therefore, the language teacher should check the features of each textbook and choose the required content according to the needs of the course and language learners. Reviewing and criticizing coursebooks is considered a neglected sub-branch of applied linguistics, which aims to review textbooks as cultural-educational products that convey important meanings through their content and form. Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary investigations can show how textual and visual or audio materials in textbooks represent people, places, languages, and culture, and can also shape learners' understanding and perspective on the above. Mina's book collection is one of the Persian language teaching books that are used in various centers. In this research, we intend to critically examine the first edition of the first book of the series, in order to understand its characteristics and its strengths and weaknesses, first of all, to help the authors in the process of editing and revising new editions and to clarify the contents that are left out. We also intend to help Persian language teachers in choosing the appropriate content for language learners. The potential authors of educational books can also take advantage of this kind of research to write useful books .
