Abstract
Classical methods have not been able to provide a suitable solution in the field of learning and teaching Persian prepositions correctly to language learners and solve their problems; therefore, they have not contributed much to the meaningful and meaningful learning of prepositions. "Ba" is one of the most widely used prepositions in Persian that also accepts other roles, including adjective adverbs and the role of adverbs. The present study seeks to present an educational lesson plan based on the cognitive semantics perspective, in accordance with the theory of domains and visual schemas, to teach and learn the different meanings of the Persian preposition "Ba" for non-Persian speakers. This educational approach is an attempt to complement contemporary semantic theories and, in addition, it also considers the structure of the functional role of language in connection with meaning. Therefore, first, based on Tyler's criteria and the primary meaning and different meanings of this preposition, it has been identified and then the sentences and phrases that contained this preposition in non-Persian speakers' textbooks have been examined. The proposed teaching method is a combined text and image model (with the help of PowerPoint and posters) to teach the semantic structure of this preposition with regard to its central meaning and other meanings. The research findings show that the use of images containing the sensory and perceptual experiences of Persian learners can establish a meaningful connection between their new and previous knowledge. The process of this research and its results have suggested effective solutions for teaching and learning this preposition in a lasting way.
